Things to know "BEFORE" calling Technical Support...

We want your tech support calls to be efficient and pleasant. Please help us help you by making some notes and observations before calling us:

  1. Know your machine
  2. Know what operating system is running on your machine; Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP
  3. Know what software is on the systems, and whether or not it seems related to the current problem.
  4. Write down any error messages you are getting.
  5. Note any other things that may be happening on your machine when the problem occurs (such as other programs running at the same time and so on).
  6. Before calling, make sure you have enough time to work with the technician. You may need to start from scratch if you have to call back because the first attempt was cut short for lack of time.
  7. Be at the problem computer when you call, and able to try suggestions offered by the technician.
  8. If it's a software problem (such as your web browser), know what version your are using.
  9. If you're really ticked off, cool down before calling and everyone will have a much better chance of solving the problem. We know that computers can get very frustrating at times.
